Amber Williams

Research Interests: I have a strong interest in attachment-based research and young people's psychosocial development, particularly related to positive psychology.

I have recently graduated the University of Edinburgh with an MSc in Children and Young People's Mental Health: Psychological Approaches, and prior to this obtained my Psychology BSc (Hons) from the University of Chester.

I have completed research exploring the understudied processes encompassing post-traumatic resilience, examining how variances in adverse childhood experiences impact Scottish adolescent cognitive and behavioural coping utilisation.

I have also completed research examining contrasting seminal theorisations posited towards self-compassion development, with focus on attachment theory and concepts related to empathy. I am looking forward to undertaking PhD studies in Clinical Psychology, and working with other researchers!
